The night had been as busy as it usually was on a Wednesday night. Bare to none. Kitti didn't mind all that much, it made it easier to connect with the regulars and get her party on behind the bar without getting yelled at by her boss for 'ignoring' her customers. Uh – hello? She can multi-task, alright? That was for damn sure. Thankfully her saving grace was here, some guy was on tour or something and was stopping to play at the club. This should be fun. It wasn't often people played at the club, seeing as it wasn't the usual venue, but they were getting more and more gigs. Kitti liked watching and listening to them whatever pop shit music they played on the other days. Kitti liked to believe she was open minded about all music and really – everything – but it was hard to like some of the stuff they played at this club. Ever since she moved to Tokyo, her life had been getting crazier and crazier. People didn't lie when they said everything was weirder and wilder in Japan, especially Tokyo. There were people in and out all the time with wacky outfits and the drinks were hard to learn but tasted awesome! Crazy things she would have never thought to combine.
Kitti was off to the side of the stage, back behind a lit up bar and she had a while before the concert of sorts was starting... at least she thought, so there wasn't a lot of people sitting around. There was people out on the dance floor, and the obvious people setting up on the stage for whoever was going to play. It had been such a slow night, she had nearly forgotten what time it was. Since no one was ordering, she checked her make up with a small compact mirror she pulled from her purse from under the bar and flicked her platinum blond bangs from her eyes before bounced on her heels to the music as she put the mirror away and picked up some glasses to start cleaning. She had to at least look busy. The next influx of people wouldn't show up for a little while and her boss always got mad at her if she was caught doing nothing. Shame. This was her jam... not really, but she was enjoying her little dancing party back behind the bar while she thought no one was looking. Or rather – no one was paying attention.

Chase wasn't sure that he was really up for playing a show tonight. He was always down for playing a show but he was so used to playing in small places like coffee shops or small bars. A club? How did he even get that gig? How did he let himself get talked into that mess? It was his first time in Tokyo though. He was willing to take any gig that he could get. He never really even expected to land a gig so fast when he got to Tokyo. He had basically picked up and left from New York. He needed a change of scenery and he closed his eyes and pointed to the map. His finger had pointed straight to Japan so he got up and went. He had only been there for a couple of days but so far it was nice. He hadn't really had the chance to meet anyone yet though. He had been basically trying to get situated with everything from his feeding habits to finding a place to live. He found a place to live and then fed. He was good. Chase wasn't one to just go about killing random people but he did need to survive. He did what he had too. That is also why he took the gig at the club. He needed money to pay for the new apartment that he had found. It was small but it was good enough for his particular situation. He just needed somewhere to leave all of his stuff and to practice playing his guitar a little.
He stepped out of the cab and looked around the area. He had no idea where he was. It didn't really matter much though either. He looked up at the club. It was definitely not a place that he would be expecting to play. Especially since he basically sold his electric guitar and accessories to afford the move out to Tokyo. All he had was his acoustic which he liked playing more anyway. "Oh they're gonna throw stuff at me. I just know it." he said quietly to himself as he picked up his guitar and headed for the door to the club. When he stepped inside, he shook his head. There was a bar and then a dance floor. There were maybe 20 people there at the time. He hoped they weren't all there to dance because he was playing an acoustic set. He was early. There was still an hour or so to kill before he had to go on. He decided on going to the bar and just sitting down for a while until he had to go get ready to play. He didn't have too much to set up. He needed to plug his guitar into the P.A. system, check the mic and then start playing. Chase walked over to the bar where the bartender seemed to be dancing to the music playing. He sat on an empty bar stool and looked around the club again. Maybe it was a good thing that there weren't a whole lot of people there. He didn't want to get lynched for not playing the kind of music they were probably expecting to hear. As he sat, he looked back over at the bartender who still seemed to be off in her own little party. "Is this place always so empty?" he half yelled over the music to the bartender.

Kitti poured herself some soda from the tap as he bopped and bounced a bit to the beat, both enjoying herself and bored out of her mind. On the not so busy nights – like tonight – Kitti wished more people would come and bother her... but on the busy nights, she tended to wish it was like tonight. Slow and steady. Casually taking a sip from the glass, she glanced around to make sure everyone who had a drink, had a full drink. The couple down on the end, who seemed oblivious to everything but each other, looked like they could use another round. Flashing a pretty grin, the blond bartender walked over and leaned against the bar, impatiently waiting to be noticed. Once the women glanced over, Kitti waved a bit and let her smile look a hint more bitchy. Mostly because this girl appeared to have the “bitch back off my man” look, so Kitti returned it with a seemingly friendly, “I'm not after your man you fat whore” smile. Ah, the joys of being a woman.
”Can I get you another round?” She leaned closer so she wasn't fully shouting, holding a much more friendly smile when she caught the attention of the man. She made better money if she looked hot and acted sweet as honey. When they both replied yes, she stepped away to mix up their drinks and then returned to hand them over, putting it on their tab. They were one of the newer regulars, they come in on dates every week and Kitti had to deal with them sucking each other's faces off and being mushy gross. Going back to dancing along to whatever Japanese pop song was playing. She watched from the corner of her eye as a new face walked up to and sat down at her bar, curiously glancing over as she danced. He didn't flag her down, so she didn't bother to rush over, but she did keep him in her vision as she entertained herself and took another drink from her glass. She couldn't drink alcohol on the job, but that didn't keep her from getting thirsty now did it?
When Kitti did hear him call out to her, she glanced over before picking up her drink and walking over to stand across from him on her side of the bar. Crystal blue eyes examined him for a moment, before she smiled and shook her head. ”It's a week day, this is busy.” She looked around before blinking and looking back at Chase with a curious frown. ”Are you the one who's performing tonight? … I only ask because you're the only one I have never seen before.” She tried to make her almost shout, sound as friendly as possible, not wanting to be a rude bitch about it. Usually week days were the party kids – who were out on the dance floor – and then the casual regulars who come here to drink instead of going to a bar because the clubs stayed open longer and were generally cleaner. Of course this club was cleaner, Kitti practically ran this place on her shifts and she needed it spotless. She shrugged off the thought and smiled again, ”name's Kitti. Can I get you a drink?” She held out her hand and waited to see if Chase would take it. He didn't look like he would have grown up in Japan, so she felt safe pushing the boundaries and offering to shake hands. The natives hated that.

Chase watched as the bartender made her way to where he was. "I guess it's a good thing there are actually people here. I guess it wouldn't be busy during the week. The weekends are probably crazy around here though." he said as he looked around toward the stage. He quickly turned his attention back to the bartender as she began speaking again. "Yeah, that would be me. I don't know what I was expecting but this wasn't it. I mean, no offence, it's a nice place, but this isn't really my scene. I just moved out here and didn't really know much about the music scene here. I took the first gig that was offered to me." He wasn't sure what he was going to do about his future gigs. He was going to have to research other places but with Chase, if he was offered a spot to play music, he was there. That is how he ended up here. He had randomly met someone who offered him the slot. He wasn't going to turn it down. He was beginning to wonder if he should have though. He was almost positive that no one here would be into his music. It wasn't exactly dance friendly. Oh well. It was exposure and that's all he really needed. Any exposure was better than no exposure. "I'm Chase. It's nice to meet you Kitti." he answered with a smile. "No, I'm fine. Thank you though." he said. Kitti had been the first person that he had actually gotten a handshake from. He had tried a couple of times with a few people he had come across so far but they usually just stared at him like they wanted to kick him in the throat.
She didn't look like she was from around here but Chase had been wrong about those sorts of things in the past. "So, you from around here? This place is a lot different than New York. I don't even know where I am half of the time." he said making casual conversation. It had been hard for Chase to talk to people out here. You would think over the past hundred and two years he would have learned Japanese or something. It just never crossed his mind as a place that he would ever live. Then again, he also never thought he would have been alive for a hundred and two years. He was going to have to make a note to himself to learn Japanese. Conversation would come a lot easier after that but for now, Kitti was really the first person that he had really been able to have a conversation with. Then again, Chase wasn't really the outgoing type. He usually kept to himself unless he was performing. Chase pulled out his phone to check the time. It was almost time for him to start getting ready for his performance. He was getting more nervous as time went by. A few more people had walked into the club but it was still almost empty. He didn't want to drive people out of the club and have them never come back because his performance wasn't what they wanted. He would just have to do his best. After he checked the time he shoved his phone back into his pocket. He had about 20 minutes until he had to start getting ready. "I have to be honest. I don't think that I fit in here. I hope they don't throw me off the stage or something." he admitted to Kitti. Hopefully she would reassure him that everything was going to go down alright.

The blond laughed and shrugged lightly, ”yeah. The weekends are when I make the best money for the clubs. I pull every hour they'll give me through the week days, but they don't match how packed this place gets Friday and Saturday night.” Working those shifts were the envy of all the bartenders at the club. Kitti had seniority over most of them now, because she'd started working the day after her twentieth birthday when they could legally have her there. Sure, he mixed drinks for house parties and partied it on at the clubs long before she was twenty. Who really ever waited that long? She smiled a little more warmly, friendlier now that she decided Chase wasn't going to be a douche to her – she always was wary at first because she hated getting stuck with douche bags. ”Well, no offense, but you weren't what I was expecting either – so it's fine.” She took a drink of her soda and listened to him curiously. It wasn't often foreigners came around and actually wanted to talk. She shook his hand, and nodded. ”Nice to meet you too, Chase.” She shifted and leaned on the bar a bit. ”If you do end up wanting anything, just tell me. I'll start a tab for you.” Sure, she wanted to chat and all, but her job was to make money – so she'd be asking him a couple of times, always politely of course.
”Oh, haha, no. I've lived here for almost six years, moved here after high school to get a fresh start. Figured Japan was the farthest from home.” And not only did that vaguely put an age on Kitti, but she gave a – still vague – explanation for why she was here. Obviously she wasn't Japanese, and she didn't carry an accent of someone who grew up in Japan, so it was only natural to assume she grew up somewhere else. She quirked a brow curiously, ”you lived in New York? That's cool. Why'd you move?” She didn't need to know, she was only making conversation. ”And don't worry, I've lived here for years and still get lost – its the beauty of living in Japan.” That it was. She couldn't count how many times she had been lost for hours in down town Tokyo, so naturally she didn't wander around much. This place was way too big and getting lost was no fun at all when you needed to be somewhere at a certain time. Now if she had wanted to just wander around all day, then it'd be a different story.
Kitti held back a laugh and shook her head. ”Don't worry about it, Chase. You're not the only performance we've had that wasn't poppy and upbeat like the stuff we play, everyone'll settle down and I'll serve some fries and I promise you – no one will throw you off the stage... unless you suck.” She smirked just a bit, teasing him obviously. If the club booked him for a gig, he clearly didn't suck. Shrugging, she took another drink of her soda and made a face at him. ”Relax, you'll be fine.” Was he new at this or something? Well, she did remember being nervous the first time she started working, but after a few weeks she lost her nerves over it. Then again, he did say he was new in town, and Japan is pretty overwhelming.
